The HJS Condiments Limited wins a Silver Award for social dialogue and workplace Cooperation
View(s):HJS Condiments Ltd, the key Agri Export division of Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited, bagged the Silver Award in the Small Scale Manufacturing Sector, at the Island Wide Competition on Social Dialogue and Workplace Cooperation 2013.
The Competition was organized by the Social Dialogue and Workplace Cooperation Unit, Industrial Relations Division, Department of Labour and Labour Relation.
Sunil Rajapaksha Manager HR & Productivity Improvement of H J S Condiments Limited receives the Silver award from Mahinda Madihewa Secretary to the Ministry.
A special team with specialists of Labour relations visited HJSC and several areas were examined in depth in accordance with the selection process for the award.
Among these areas were the implementation of social dialogue techniques, employee Performance Management System,, Managerial Methods on Social Dialogue Implementation – Examples – 5S Method, Green concept, Kaizen Suggestion Scheme, Quality Circles etc. Achievements, Awards obtained by the Company as well as employees and Employee Well-Being and Satisfaction, Employee Health and Safety, Building Industrial Peace, and Productivity Improvement methods.
In a press release, the company stated that the Agri Export Food division of Hayleys Agriculture spearheaded by HJS Condiments Ltd is a leading Sri Lankan exporter of fruits and vegetables accounting for 43% of the country’s fruit and vegetable exports. What is unique about the Hayleys Agriculture involvement in this key sector is the sustainable supply chain that has been strongly developed which provides indirect employment to 18,000 people from farming communities in the rural areas. Covering 28 countries, HJS has six major product lines including Pickled Whole Gherkins, Pickled Cut Gherkins, Relish, Exotic Pickles, Pastes and Chutneys and Organic Foods.
