The first day at school

View(s):

I woke up early in the morning
Full of flowers blooming
I first saw a dress
Which was blue and white
But I couldn’t realize why was that

Then I went downstairs
To see everyone working hard
When I asked my mother
I was surprised and happy
But still I couldn’t realize why was that

My grandmother had arranged
A glass of water with some flowers
But still I couldn’t realize what it was

I got ready in the blue and white dress
I went to a place with my parents
But I still couldn’t realize why was that

There were lots of children dressed just like me
Beautiful teachers in colourful dresses
Finally I realized where I was

Tsunami

It was the day after Christmas, December 26, 2004. It was 9.26 in the morning when the sea went back. Suddenly the sea came at the height of more than a coconut tree.

The houses, railway lines, trees, boats and all the things close to the sea were destroyed. People who got the news panicked and packed their bags as soon as possible and went to their relations houses where it was not affected. Many lives of human beings and animals were lost.

The railway lines were removed. Nobody could believe the strength and pressure of the water. Many people were travelling in the train that was destroyed. This disaster is an unforgettable incident for everybody.

My country

My country is
Sri Lanka. It is an island in the Indian Ocean. It is also called the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. There are several communities in my country. They are Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers. Sri Lanka exports tea, rubber and coconut. Sri Jayawardenepura
Kotte is the capital of Sri Lanka. Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain and Mahaveli is the longest river.

We have a tropical climate. Sri Lanka is famous throughout the world as a tourist paradise. Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa is the present president of my country. Our national tree is the Na tree. Our national game is Volleyball. Our national bird is the Jungle fowl. Our national flower is the Blue Water-lily. Our country is very, very beautiful.

I love my country so… much.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of you! Do you know why we celebrate Christmas? We celebrate Christmas because of Jesus’ birthday. It is a joyful time for all of us. We give gifts, Santa comes, we clean our houses and we go shopping. I enjoy Christmas by helping the poor.
My advice to you is that Jesus is the reason for the season (not Santa).
