Five Star Cricket Fiesta
Cinnamon Grand won the inaugural Inter Five Star Cricket Fiesta hosted by Cinnamon Lakeside when they defeatd Galadari Hotel by 35 runs in the final at Reid Avenue recently.
Batting first, Cinnamon Grand piled up 87 for two wickets in their quota of overs with Janoda Sriyapala top scoring with an unbeaten 67.
Galadari Hotel in reply was restricted to 52 for four wickets.
Six hotel teams participated in the tournament. Namely, Galadari, Hilton Colombo, Cinnamon Grand, Trans Asia, Taj Samudra and KHMSL.
Cinnamon Grand’s Janoda Sriyapala was the highest scorer of the tournament and was awarded a return ticket to Chennai, India.
The champions were awarded a challenge trophy and Rs. 30,000/-., while the runner-up team was also awarded a trophy and Rs. 20,000/-.
