Airtel publishes 2014 calendar with social media competition entries
View(s):Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has published the first ever social media calendar in Sri Lanka for the year 2014, with a collection o entries from their own subscribers. The winners, whose entries qualified for the calendar, recently received their prizes at the Airtel Lanka Corporate office, the company said.
“In August this year, customers and the general public were invited to play a key role in the creation of the iconic Airtel calendar, one of the most modern and innovative corporate calendars in the market today. Airtel Lanka’s calendar is designed to capture the talented creativity of Sri Lankans which is showcased in the latest media of expression, the social media,” the statement added.
Launched through a digital media campaign on various social media platforms, Airtel Lanka said it opened its doors to all budding photographers, creative digital artists and social media enthusiasts to send in their creative entries to a designated online platform – the Airtel Life Facebook page. 25 entries with the maximum number of likes qualified for the finals of which the best 12 were chosen for the calendar. The final 12 entries were incorporated to the 2014 Airtel calendar and diary which will be distributed to over 20 countries worldwide.
The winners of the entries were awarded valuable Smartphones. The final winners were Sandun Lakmal – Ratmalana, P. Denver – Ragama, Nasath Ahamed – Ampara, Ilham Shiraz – Wattala, Bilal Miskin –Rajagiriya, Shamshad Khan – Dematagoda, Sudam Bandara –Pothuhera, Waseem Ahamed –Dematagoda and Nisal Guruge –Pannipitiya.
