CMA Sri Lanka signs MOU with MIA Malaysia
View(s):The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka signed a memorandum of Understanding with the Malaysian Accountants (MIA) at the MIA International Conference held in Kuala Lumpur recently.
It was signed by the President of CMA Sri Lanka Prof. Lakshman R Watawala and the President of MIA John Idris, according to a CMA Sri Lanka release.
MIA is the body that is mandated to regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia. CMA is the National Professional Management Accounting Body in Sri Lanka and incorporated by an Act of parliament and responsible for the Cost and Management Accounting Profession and the setting of Management Accounting Standards in Sri Lanka.
The MOU provides for promoting mutual co-operation for the advancement of the accounting profession and to share information, co-operation in the professional accountancy training, education, research and continuing professional development. They will also participate and extend invitations for conferences, symposia, workshops of common interest.
