Instant cold coffee machine, another innovation to reduce cost of labour
View(s):Sri Lanka being a country that is heading towards development, new innovations need to come into play. Cost of labour is a major crisis that the country is facing today. Brand new innovations could bring down the cost of labour, said Ganesan Ampalavanar, Managing Director of Nestle Lanka PLC.
He made these comments at the Nestle Professional brand new cold coffee machine launch together with two new products Nescafe iced coffee and Nestea iced lemon tea this week at the Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo.
Mr. Ampalavanar said that Nestle is built on innovation. The company was formed in 1867 and arrived in Sri Lanka in 1906. Nescafe was launched in 1938 and the very first hot coffee machine was launched in 1998 in Sri Lanka. In 2008 Nestle Professional was launched. The need of this brand new machine meets the need of the consumers today. The country needs to come up with products which are not only good in quality, but also easy to prepare and hygienic in many ways. Today as the cost of labour is going up machines of this nature would be a feature of Sri Lanka tomorrow.
The new cold coffee machine is just the same as the hot coffee machine. The difference is the hotness and the coldness. Just like the hot coffee machine, this machine could be fed with 1kg of tea or coffee packet to obtain cold coffee or tea in an average cup. The machine doesn’t take long enough to get cooled. In this machine you could get cold coffee or tea into a 200ml cup where as in a hot coffee machine it is only in a 150ml cup, according to an expert who explained about the machine at the launch.
The cold coffee machine is designed specifically for restaurants, hotels, tea shops and other eateries in response to the increasing market need for convenient, cold beverage products for consumption.
