2nd South Asian Carriers’ Meet to be held in Colombo on Feb 18
View(s):The second South Asian Carriers’ Meet (SACM) will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from February 18 to February 20 this year, according to a statement by organisers.
It noted that the inaugural SACM was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in November 2012, featuring more than 100 companies and 300 delegates representing major telecom carriers in addition to small and regional players. Also attending was a number of wholesale tlecom ecosystem companies, such as equipment vendors, solutions providers, application (app) makers and developers.
Organisers also revealed the theme for this year’s edition of SACM, “Connecting the Future”, as well as the event venue, the Taj Samudra hotel. Also indicated; “SACM is the only event of its kind and will feature both high-level networking opportunities and strategic conference sessions followed by panel discussions providing a comprehensive overview of wholesale telecommunications in South Asia as the region is not only one of the fastest growing telecoms markets but also one of the most sought after markets in the world.
SACM has chosen Sri Lanka as the host country this time due to its booming telecom sector and it having investments from the biggest conglomerates of the international telecom sector like Axiata, Etisalat, Bharti Airtel and Tata Communications. Besides various other enterprises from Sri Lanka are also operating in the telecom ecosystem. Moreover Sri Lanka is a mesmerising destination and SACM 2014 will sparkle with the beauty of Sri Lanka”.
