Medical insurance for senior citizens in the North
View(s):Amãna Takaful PLC, recently entered into a partnership with the Northern Central Hospital to offer insurance services to patients seeking treatment at the hospital based in Jaffna.
The MoU to this effect was signed by Fazal Ghaffoor, CEO, Amana Takaful PLC and S P Samy, Founder Chairman, Northern Central Hospital in the presence of senior officials of both organisations, according to an Amana media release.
In 2013 Amãna Takaful a composite insurer and the pioneer of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka launched KruthaGuna a hospitalisation insurance cover for parents and elders above the age of 55 years, which is reported to be the first-ever medical cover offered for senior citizens of Sri Lanka.
People of the North will now benefit from a tailor made solution to them “Sei Nandri” which will be exclusively available to them through the Northern Central Hospital in Jaffna, it said.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Ghaffoor, CEO, Amãna Takaful said: ‘‘We recognise the ever increasing ageing population of Sri Lanka and the resulting pressure on the social security net. This aspect will be a challenge for people at retirement. With today’s fast paced society and the varying priorities, many of us tend to neglect the obligations towards our beloved parents and elders. Amãna Takaful Sei Nandri provides financial assistance to those who become helpless at a time of hospitalisation.
