Butterfly Apparel, the clothing brand begun by young husband and wife duo Yasok Nagarajah and Arundathi Yasok might just might be the answer, to indulging one’s fashion compulsions without breaking the bank. The ladies clothing brand which opened its flagship store at Liberty Plaza in 2012 has just opened another outlet at Majestic City.
The couple who graduated from a university in Sydney, Australia managed a similar enterprise. Arundathi tells us that the young duo first tapped into the potential of the local market when they ran a small stall at Christmas shopping festival held at the BMICH, where the duo’s good taste, keen eye and affordable prices drew in customers and praise alike. It was only a matter of time before the flagship store was opened at Liberty Plaza.
Butterfly Apparel stocks a wide range of women’s wear; from formal wear, which is designed in-house by the couple, to evening and casual wear imported specially for the store. Ladies shirts are priced at Rs. 890, tops at Rs. 690, skirts and shorts at Rs.750 and evening dresses at Rs. 1850 are a bargain. They’ve even added a range of handbags for Rs. 1700. “We believe in affordable quality,” says Arundathi. “People should have the option to buy beautiful things at reasonable prices.”
