New Justice of the Peace
View(s):Ronald Duleep Ratnayake of 285/C, Dippitigoda Road, Kelaniya has been appointed as a Justice of the Peace for the Judicial 
district of Gampaha. Mr. Ratnayake, who initially was an English teacher at the Methodist School in Tangalle, later joined the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and retired after 34 years. At the time of retirement he was a checking officer in the Internal Audit Division.
His father Mudaliyar Fred W. Ratnayake was the last Mudaliyar to retire in Sri Lanka on the abolition of the chief headman system, and later served as the Commissioner for the Registration of Indian & Pakistani Residents. He too was a Justice of the Peace and an unofficial magistrate.
