Sithara steers Richmond to easy win
An unbeaten 51 by Sithara Gimhana helped Richmond to record an easy eight wicket win over Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda in a first round match of the Under 19 inter-school limited over tournament played at Mahinda College ground in Galle yesterday.
Sri Devananda MV taking first lease of the wicket was bowled out for a low score of 96 and in reply Richmond needed just 18.1 overs to reach the required target.
In another match of the same tournament played at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala Maliyadeva defeated Dharmasoka MV Ambalangoda by 13 runs.
Maliyadeva batting first helped by a knock of 64 by Namindu Somaratne made a modest score of 198. They then restricted their opponents to a score of 185.
