Lankan travellers concerned after missing MH370
Sri Lankan passengers though concerned still do travel on Malaysian Airlines despite a slight dip in demand in the wake of the recent mysterious disappearance of the MH370 flight.
Travel Agents Association President Saman Premakumara speaking with the Business Times said that they had witnessed a “slight dip” in demand for flying on Malaysian Airlines.
However, Aitken Spence Travels Outbound Division General Manager Nishan Seneviratne said they had not witnessed any drop in demand. But they had noticed concern by passengers and even recently though a group had expressed concern they had later booked their tickets on Malaysian Airlines.
Mr. Seneviratne dismissed possibilities of people dropping out of flying on Malaysian Airlines since the missing flight was a Boeing 777 there were similar aircraft used by other carriers as well.
The MH 370 flight went missing on March 8 above the Gulf of Thailand and ever since an intense search operation has been carried out with at least 25 countries involved.
