Quantum awards eight employees with UK qualification
View(s):Quantum Clothing Lanka recently awarded eight of its employees an NVQ level 3 Certificate in Apparel Manufacturing Technology in collaboration with ABC Awards of the UK, a media release issued by the company stated.
The programme was tailor-made from the courses offered through ABC Awards, targeting pattern and grading skills for lingerie, it was stated.
The goal was to offer its employees an opportunity to develop their Pattern and Grading skills as this would benefit both our business and the individual learners, the company noted.
The training was delivered by six resource personnel, including some from Quantum Clothing, Marks and Spencer and a qualified lecturer. All trainers need to be accredited by ABC awards as being competent to deliver the particular modules. The programme covered 48 credits over 10 modules, and the final portfolios were sent to ABC Awards in the UK for marking.
“We are committed to developing and training our employees for the mutual benefit of both our company and our employees. This is the first time such a programme has been offered outside of the UK, and we are indeed very happy that we now have the first batch,” Yohan Lawrence, Country Manager Quantum Clothing Lanka (Pvt) Ltd said in the statement.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Group Technical and Quality Director Kevin Doherty, and others from the UK.
