First ever Pakistan National Day Golf Tournament in Colombo
View(s):The first ever Pakistan National Day Golf Tournament took place at the Royal Colombo Golf Club on March 22 where prominent Sri Lankan golfers and members of the diplomatic community took part. It was an 18-hole tournament in which players competed for exciting prizes, both in Gentlemen and Ladies categories.
The golf dinner and prize giving ceremony for the tournament was held on the same evening at the Colombo Courtyard Hotel. The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka H.E Maj Gen (R) Qasim Qureshi gave away the prizes. Prize winners in the ladies category were Ms. Roshani Sangani and Ms. Louise Parson, while in the men’s category K.L. Illango and S. Subramaniam carried away the prizes.
Novelty prizes were won by Kris Krisnaraja, P. Kumaran, V.T. Sundaralingam, Firaz Hameed and B.K. Jun.
The High Commissioner appreciated the cooperation and support extended by the Royal Colombo Golf Club, sponsors and the organising committee.
The event was co-sponsored by leading Pakistani business groups Habib Bank Ltd and Imperial Builders.
