Sri Lankan delegation at top Chinese fair
View(s):Sri Lanka demonstrated its economic potential at ‘The Business Promotion of ASEAN and South Asian Countries’ event held at the 24th Zhongshan Trade and Investment Fair, in Guangdong in China recently.
The Sri Lanka presentation, done by the Consul General of Sri Lanka for South China, Ms. Yasoja Gunasekera and Deputy Secretary-Economic Development of the Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association (SLCFA), Nishan K. Silva, was the only presentation from the four-nation event, with Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand and with delegations from UK, Argentina and Brazil as observers.
“Partnering with China at grass root levels, will power the economic progress of Sri Lanka,” says Ananda Goonatilleke, President of SLCFA. “ The SLCFA has the necessary human resource capital to maximise all economic development opportunities China provides for the economic development of Sri Lanka,” added Sumathi Dharmawardena, General Secretary of the SLCFA.
The delegation included Bandula Dharmasena, Director Lead Business Development Co. Ltd; Sudath Mendis, MD, X-Force Ltd; Dhanuka Senerath, Director, Premadasa Jewellers and R. Shridhar, Sales Manager of Delair Travels Ltd.
