Beware of bends, choose your transport with care
View(s):With many holiday makers expected to hit cooler climes to beat the heat, officials have warned those visiting Horton Plains to be more mindful when selecting their mode of transport because of the many bends that have to be negotiated en route.
They warned the public that some private buses are driven by inexperienced drivers that could cause accidents.
This warning followed an incident earlier this week where a group of students from Jaffna who were visiting the Plains faced a dangerous situation when the driver of the bus could not negotiate a tricky bend. However all ended well when the Nuwara Eliya AGA with the assistance of his driver drove the bus to safety after asking the students to alight from the bus.
