Deheragoda, Aravind burn the Diyatalawa track in grand style

Dinesh Deheragoda and K.P. Aravind of India took the major honours when they bagged the top divers and riders awards at the 22nd Foxhill Supercross which was held at the Sri Lanka Military Academy motor racing track in Diyatalawa yesterday.

Dinesh in fact winning the best drivers award after a lapse of 12 years having last won the award in the year 2002 while for Aravind it was his first title of the meet having participated in the same meet on a number of occasions.

There was a tight finish for the best riders’ prize with three of the top riders of the day Gayan Sandaruwan who has won the title six times the last being two years, defending champion Shehan C. Adikari and the ultimate winner Aravind in the fray with all three accumulating 16 points each.
But according to racing rules the rider who takes the best slot in the final race is declared the winner which went to Aravind who came out top in the deciding event of the day. Apart from that Upulwan Serasinghe and Sajaad Zuhair had a double in the motor car events while Shehan Adikari clinched a double in the motor bike events.
The 22nd Foxhill Supercross was organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy in collaboration with Sri Lanka Auto Sports Drivers Association with Ceypecto as main sponsor along with co-sponsors.
