Walasmulla is a busy town in the Hambantota district. Around 5,000 persons converge on the town daily, yet it lacks a bus halt.
As a result there is no definite spot for passengers to get off or get into buses as buses tend to halt in different places.
One picture shows a student running to get into a bus and others show people standing outside shops awaiting the arrival of a bus.
Since there is no fixed bus stop, the public are left helpless and are forced to run hither and thither in an effort to get into a bus.
Chairman of the Walasmulla Trade Association -Sisira Jayasinghe- said they see people struggling every day because of a lack of this basic facility.

“It is difficult for them as well as the traders. Since people flock in front of shops, traders find it hard to cunduct their businesses,” he said.
Thechairman of the Walasmulla Pradeshiya Sabha Piyasena Liyanaarachchi said plans were underway to develop the city.
