BBDO wins APAC Effie ‘Agency Network of the Year’
View(s):Advertising agency network BBDO recently won “Agency Network of the Year” at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Effie Awards, hosted in Singapore. The network was also recognised with awards for seven of its offices, including Colenso BBDO/Proximity New Zealand being named “Agency of the Year”.
According to Santosh Menon, Managing Director of BBDO Lanka, “BBDO is the most awarded creative agency in the world. And it is now clear that creative is effective. In fact, for work to be effective it must be creative. We are delighted that our agency has excelled at the ‘Effies’”.
Featuring a total of 56 awards, namely 12 Golds, 26 Silvers and 18 Bronzes, this marketing effectiveness oriented Effie award programme was held at the Conrad Centennial Singapore with some 170 guests attending. Also, the competition received 300 entries in this, its inaugural year. And the entries were judged by a panel that included Connie Chan, the Judging and Awards Chairman; Ajay Kakar, Chief Marketing Officer for Financial Services at the Aditya Birla Group; Ben Lightfoot, the Chief Executive at McCann Worldgroup Singapore; Nicky Lim, Regional Director for ASEAN at Geometry Global; and Pully Chau, an advertising and Effie veteran.
Additionally, the first ever Asia Pacific Effie Awards was organised by the Confederation of the Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) and Tenasia Group, recognising the APAC region’s best marketing communications with proven results that also meet strategic objectives. Meanwhile, the seven BBDO offices awarded “Effies” received 15 metals overall, comprising two Golds, seven Silvers and six Bronzes. The network also received finalist slots numbering 24 of the 99 finalists in total, or just over 25 per cent.
