‘Memory Lane’ dedicated to Mother’s Day
‘Memory Lane; An Evening of Remembering’, a musical extravaganza with a difference, featuring glamorous singer Corrine Almeida and her singing family members will come alive on 11 May at the Colombo Hilton starting from 7.00pm.
A young woman of the 70s, Corrine Almeida has devoted her life to her passion for music. For over three decades she has rocked both the Western and Oriental music scene in Sri Lanka and captivated Sri Lankan audiences and others across the world with her voice. Now, at the pinnacle of her career, she takes a moment to look back on the music that inspired the beginning of her journey to stardom.
Titled as ‘An Evening of Remembering’, Memory Lane focuses on the vocal talents of not just Corrine but her family whose many talents keep them eternally entangled in the world of music and dramatic art. Sensational guitarist and vocalist brother Kevin Almeida, actor and author Brandon Ingram and the mother of all this mishmash of creativity, Noeline Almeida herself will serve as some memorable moments to look forward to.
The date of the event, the 11th of May, which also happens to be Mother’s Day, is no small coincidence as Corrine dedicates the musical fiasco to her mother and the memory of her father – the late Francis Julian Almeida. The Hilton Colombo and Gold FM have partnered with Corrine as the official venue and electronic media sponsor for Memory Lane, respectively. Tickets for the event are priced at Rs. 3000/-, Rs. 4000/- and Rs. 5000/- and are available at the Special Events Desk at the Hilton Colombo.
