Indian doc. has new approach to treating kidney disease
With kidney disease on the increase in the country, an Indian doctor with a different approach to the treatment for the condition has taken on the task of helping Sri Lankan patients. Homeopathy combined with a holistic approach is what the Indian doctorSiddharth M. Jondhale is using to treat his patients.

He has already started medication of around 100 Sri Lankans who are suffering from the disease in the Anuradhapura District where kidney disease has reached epidemic proportions. Dr. Jondhale, who is a practising Buddhist, said that along with the homeopathy medicine he gives his patients, he also encourages them to practise vipassana meditation so that they can approach the treatment with a positive frame of mind.
“I have studied homeopathy and also the Tripitaka (the Buddhist scriptures) which contain many approaches to treating diseases of the human body. When they are combined there is a tremendous success rate in curing all kinds of disease,” Dr.Jondhale said.
Ajith Lakmal (24) who hails from Anuradhapura was detected with kidney disease two years ago. He was told by doctors here that he had only a few months to live if he did not get a kidney transplant. Then he, along with two other patients, had volunteered to go to India to try out the homeopathy based treatment. “I feel much better now and I think I am on the road to recovery,” Lakmal said. Dr.Jondhale says he has also treated patients in India suffering for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and found that the disease went into remission as the treatment progressed over several months.
He has also seen positive results in patients suffering from diabetes and cancer with the homeopathy treatment.
“The approach of homeopathy is to treat the body, mind and the spirit. When all this come together, patients recover from most ailments,” he said.
