In all probabilities Sri Lankas star allrounder Thisara Perera will miss the Ireland leg of the tour.

By last afternoon Perera was still in Colombo awaiting the British visa from the High Commission based in Chennai, India.

Manager Cricket Operations Sri Lanka Cricket Carlton Bernadus explaining matters to the Sunday Times said “Still the lad is in Colombo awaiting his British visa.

“Initially he went to the British Embassy in the United Arab Emirates where he was involved with the Indian Premier League, but, there he was advised that he would have to lodge his papers from Colombo.

“Duly he left the IPL tournament last Sunday and returned to the island and forwarded his papers on Monday and went in for the finger prints on Tuesday.

However up to now he has not received any intimation about his visa from the British high Commission in Colombo.

Besides, after obtaining the British visa he will have to apply for his visa to Ireland and even if he gets his visa on Monday, there may not be sufficient time for him to be in Ireland even for the for the second match which is scheduled to be played on May 8.”Sri Lanka are down to take on Ireland on two one-day internationals on 6 and 8 May.

Now in place of Thisara Perera who needed visas for both countries – Ireland and England, fast bowler Shaminda Eranga will make the Ireland leg of the tour.
