Perennial Buddhist songs for Vesak

In coincidence with the Vesak festival, Visharadha Sadhana Ranatunga has released a compact disc comprising songs on Buddhist themes. The CD titled ‘Budhu Himi Dekmata’ is comprised of songs sung by Sadhana’s grandmother Kalashuri Vasantha Sandanayake.
The new musical direction for the songs penned by Mervyn Senaratne and Sarath Wimalaweera is done by Jagath Wickremasinghe. It contains evergreen songs like ‘Nokiyama Eda’, ‘Patachara’, Shakya Maha Raja’, Niva Nivalana Daham Kedelle, Dharma Raja and Budhu Himi Dekmata’.
