SLASSCOM to hold briefing on increasing workforce diversity
View(s):Private sector IT-BPO body SLASSCOM will, on Wednesday morning, host its CXO Breakfast Briefing on “Increasing Diversity and Inclusiveness in the Contemporary Workforce” at the Cinnamon Lakeside. The event features keynote speaker Dr. Astrid Tuminez, Micosoft’s Regional Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs for South East Asia.
Most recently the author of “Rising to the Top? A Report on Women’s Leadership in Asia”, Dr. Tuminez also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (National University of Singapore), where she was also formerly the Vice-Dean (Research) and the Assistant Dean (Executive Education).
Previously having worked as a Senior Advisor to the Salzburg Global Seminar, Director of Research for alternative investments at AIG Global Investment, a consultant to The World Bank and an institutional sales/research professional at Brunswick Warburg, Dr. Tuminez also took part in peace negotiations between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, while at the US Institute of Peace.
The SLASSCOM event also includes a panel discussion comprising Sandra De Zoysa, Group Chief Customer Officer at Dialog Axiata PLC; Nilusha Ranasinghe, from accountancy body ACCA; Chandi Dharmaratne, Human Resources Director at Virtusa; Lakmini Wijesundera, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Iron One Technologies; Kanishka Weerasinghe, Deputy Director General of the Employers Federation of Ceylon; and Samadani Kiriwandeniya, Chairperson of SANASA Development Bank.
