‘Thinetha TV’ Lanka’s first HD TV

Sri Lanka’s first High Definition (HD) satellite television channel ‘Thinetha TV’ is to be launched soon.
Opened as a national TV channel, ‘Thinetha TV ‘ is to telecast a variety of programmes including news, current affairs, teledramas, musical programmes, sports and live programmes. All the programmes that are scheduled to be telecast over the channel are new and they would be produced maintaining international standards.
‘Thinetha TV’ will be the first television channel that would be aired using satellite technology and will cover Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia. “The aim of ‘Thinetha TV’ is to inform and educate Sri Lankans living world over on what is happening in Sri Lanka and provide them entertainment,” Rohan Welivita, the man behind ‘Thinetha TV’ said.
Programmes will be produced in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages.
