Ceylinco Insurance to ‘collect premiums via debit and credit cards on the go’
View(s):The General Insurance arm of Sri Lankan heavyweight Ceylinco Insurance has partnered with top celco Dialog to roll out a mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) payment solution to “quickly and easily establish a means to accept MasterCard and Visa card payments thrugh a smartphone or tablet”. Further, this allows the insurer’s sales teams to “collect premiums via credit or debit cards on the go”.
According to the announcement, “A free app provided by Global Payments is downloaded to the mobile device which connects to a secure card reader to start accepting card payments instantly. It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and comes with multi-level security measures to protect customer data from being stored on the card reader or the phone. Dialog now offers both iOS and Android mobile phone devices at an affordable price and a special data package with attractive rates for the mPOS solution”.
It also added that this “hassle-free and cost-effective mobile, card acceptance service helps merchants on the go such as businesses with mobile sales force; home delivery services and outdoor sales operations to capture instant purchases. Customers can also enjoy added payment convenience as they can now make card payments easily and quickly anywhere cards were previously not accepted”.
