Bowlers dominate MCA ‘F’ quarter-finals
Unbeaten Kanrich Finance ‘B’ along with Peoples Leasing Co., Standard Chartered Bank and Bodyline advanced to the Semi-Finals in the ‘Sierra IT’ Trophy, MCA Division ‘F’ 30-Over League Tournament, winning their quarter-final matches played at the MCA Grounds over the weekend.
Kanrich Finance strike bowler Roshan Laksiri bamboozled Hilton Colombo Residence batsmen, bagging six wickets for 9 runs in 4.3 overs to carry them to a comfortable 6-wicket win.
The second six-wicket haul for the week-end came from Krishan Jayasanka (6 for 26 in 4.1 overs) from Peoples Leasing Co., as they crushed MAS Active Trading ‘B’ by 44 runs.
Standard Chartered Bank bowlers, Sylwin Jamion (4 for 25) and Jeremy Savarimuttupulle (3 for 25) restricted Citizens Development Bank to a mere 128 runs in 27.3 overs and openers Bhanuka Adhisha (71 in 69 balls with 9 fours) and C. Satharasinghe (35) put on 90-runs to put the bankers on the right side of the ledger with a 7-wicket win.
A third six-wicket haul was recorded when Gayan Sepalage bagged 6 for 25 in six overs, including a maiden for Bodyline, which spearheaded them to a convincing 40 runs win over Pizza Hut.
