St. Servatius’ overcome big match rivals STC Matara by 130 runs
St. Servatius’ College overcame big match rivals St. Thomas’ College Matara by 130 runs in their Under-17 Division I cricket encounter played at the Uyanwatte stadium on Thursday. The Servatians asked to bat first scored 228 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 43 overs. Rajantha Chandula scored an unbeaten 72 off 63 balls which included eight boundaries and three sixes while Ramesh Nimantha scored 59 off 71 deliveries with ten boundaries. Shehan de Zoysa captured three wickets.
For St. Servatius’ Gihan Dilruk captured three wickets while Chathura Jayawickrema, Ashen Deemantha and Chamil Dhananjaya captured two wickets each to restrict the Thomians to 98 runs in 37.3 overs. Nipun Achalanka topped the score card with 28.
