The Josephians beat Ananda by 75 runs, Dharmapala Kottawa by 165 runs, Dharmapala Pannipitiya by 94 runs, Isipathana by 60 runs, Carey by 239 runs, Gurukula by six wickets and St. Benedict’s by 93 runs to remain unbeaten in the tournament. They posted a highest score of 412 for 5 wickets against Carey which incidentally could be a Junior School Cricket record in limited over Cricket. The Josephians also had the honour of surpassing the three hundred run mark twice, against Dharmapala Kottawa and against St. Benedict’s College.

Opener Revan Kelly led the way scoring over 500 runs inclusive of one double hundred, one century and one fifty while Jehan Daniel smashed four half centuries to accumulate 325 runs and skipper Nipun Sumanasinghe stroked one century. Three other batsman Aron Gunaratne, Cameron Duruge and Jehan Fernandopulle also notched up a half century each in the first round. Opening bowler Jehan Daniel was the leading bowler with 18 wickets. The youngsters who are coached by Anil Gunasinghe go into the second round brimming with confidence after their convincing performances in the first round.
