Dell launches new storage array in SL
View(s):Computer maker Dell recently launched the SC4020 storage array in Sri Lanka, which it described as “2U, 24-drive storage area network (SAN) based on Dell Compellent Storage Center software. The arrays are designed to offer the same advanced capabilities s larger SANs in a solution sized and priced for mid-sized deployments”.
Additionally, comprising “fibre channel connectivity, the new arrays complement the Dell EqualLogic iSCSI-based solutions and enable Dell to offer full-featured arrays that address both networking demands for mid-sized storage needs”.
According to a statement by the company’s local unit, this product was the first from the new Dell Storage SC4000 Series, which was primarily being launched in the Asia Pacific region, before even Europe and USA. Dell also stated that this new storage series offered an “all-flash solution that can cost up to 76 per cent less than competing pure flash arrays”. “The Dell Storage SC4000 Series represents the latest example of Dell redefining the economics of enterprise storage and a huge opportunity for our customers, channel partners and Dell,” commented Sumir Bhatia, General Manager for Enterprise Solutions at Dell South Asia.
