Porsche again climbs to top position in US market research rating
View(s):Many Sri Lankans who used to drive Porsche vehicles abroad have been provided a chance to enjoy the Porsche driving experience on Sri Lankan roads with the launching of new variant of the Panamera model range in Colombo.
Eurocars Ltd, a subsidiary of the IWS Holdings Group and the official Porsche importer in Sri Lanka, is marketing Panamera S Hybrid and Cayenne S Hybrid and it has a good demand due to the reduction in duties on Hybrid vehicles, company Chairman Arthur Senanayake added.
He said that the Sri Lankan car market is stagnated at present as result of high taxes on vehicles and only the hybrid cars are moving other than vehicles that are imported under duty free/ duty slashed car permits issued to public sector employees.
Speaking to the Business Times on the sidelines of the company’s latest vehicle launch in Colombo recently, Mr. Senanayake noted that the practice of under valuation in vehicle importation by some motor traders should be immediately halted by the government as it will affect the genuine importers badly.
