Travel Trade Carrom Championship in July
View(s):The 2nd Travel Trade Sports Club Carrom Championships 2014, will be held on 5th July, at the Galadari Hotel’s “Tulip” Public Dining Restaurant (PDR), commencing 9.00 am.
Carom Federation of Sri Lanka will once again conduct the tournament for TTSC and the venue sponsor will be Galadari Hotel.
Men’s tournament will be conducted on a team Championship basis, consisting three singles and two doubles; while the Women’s tournament is open on a Knock-out format.
Entries are invited from the TTSC Member Firms and will close on Monday, 30th June 2014 with Gayani Karunaratne C/o Aitken Spence Travels, Vauxhall Tower II, 4th Floor, 317, Vauxhall Street, Colombo 2.
In the inaugural tournament held on 10th August 2013 at the same venue. H.T.V. Duminda from Mt. Lavinia Hotel won the Men’s Singles, while G.H.S. Priyadarshani from Sri Lankan Airlines won the women’s singles. The Galadari Hotel pair, Sunil Fernando and R.L.G. Liyanage won the Men’s doubles while Indra Nalawansa and Dilini Ratnasiri from Mt. Lavinia Hotel won the women’s doubles and in the Mixed doubles, the winners were Priyankara Peiris and Mihiri Sakila of Mt. Lavinia Hotel.
This will be the 3rd event in the 2014 TTSC Sports Calendar, having earlier completed the Bowling and Pool Championships. – LR
