In a day dominated by pacemen NM Distributors Nagahapitiya’s effort of 5-1-8-6 was the best for the week-end, as Tinpack were skittled for a paltry 35 runs in 14 overs while Kelani Cables’ Ratnayake’s effort of 5-1-10-6 sent M I Synergy down the precipice — 35 all out in 14 overs.

LB Finance’s Lakshan Rodrigo bowled only 3.4 overs and snapped up 6 for 18, as LB Finance ‘B’ romped home to a 112 runs win over Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka Insurance ‘B’.

Opening batsman, Jeremy Savarimuttupulle took the batting honours with a swashbuckling 102 in 61 balls, hitting eight sixes and 11 fours in the process to give Bharti Airtel a hard fought 10 runs win over, debutants, Asiri Hospitals.

Weekend’s best team total of 258 for 6 in 25 overs came from Glaxo SmithKline against debutants, IDM Nation Campus. GSK opener, Nimesha Jayatillake missed a well deserved century by eight runs (92 in 64 balls, inclusive of 2 sixes and 15 fours); GSK beat IDM by 101 runs.
