ME group offers comprehensive travel insurance policy
View(s):The Orient Group of Companies headquartered in United Arab Emirates (UAE) which was started in 1930s and now grown to one of the largest regional conglomerate in the region with a workforce of 60,000 employees, have been in Sri Lanka since 2009 in a strog association with the Associated Motorways Ltd (AMW) through a huge investment.
In 2011 with an investment of Rs. 750 million, Orient Lanka Insurance was formed, and last week Orient Insurance launched ‘Travel Care’ Insurance for travellers with the event held in Colombo with Orient Group President and Chairman, Orient Insurance Sri Lanka Omer Elamin in attendance.
Tilak De Soyza, Vice Chairman, Orient Lanka, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Vice Chairman, Orient Insurance said that the group is merchandising in automotives, electronics, engineering, real estate, financial services including insurance and joint ventures. The company has a strong presence, he said, in the UAE – Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman; Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, parts of Africa, Europe and now for the past two years in Sri Lanka.
The Orient Group trades with some of the world’s top most brands, he said ranging from Toyota, Honda, Volvo, Panasonic, Marks and Spencer, Intercontinental, etc.
Mr. Elamin said that there is a growing need in the market for a total travel insurance, solution and their ‘Travel Care’ which is launched in partnership with an international claims settlement provider would be ideal for families, students, entrepreneurs and company employees who are travelling overseas for business or leisure purposes.
He said that it is easy to issue the policies and the travel agents can benefit from a seamless and convenient process, which enables them to offer customers comprehensive travel insurance at an affordable price.
The policy is comprehensive and meets both personal and corporate travel needs during an outbound journey, overseas stay or when returning home, he said and indicated that the ‘Travel Care’ policyholders receive assistance when dealing with lost luggage, lost passports as well as government and consulate liaisons.
