Sri Lanka’s recent experiences in macroeconomic management were highlighted at the Conference for High-Level Officials on the Macroeconomic Outlook for Mongolia, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on June 25. The event was organised by the Mongolian Government and the Central Bank of Mongolia, with the assistance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
The foreign delegates at the conference included Naoyuki Shinohara, Deputy Managing Director of the IMF; Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka; Prof. Eduardo Aninat, Former Minister of Finance of the Republic of Chile; Ms. Tarisa Watanagase, former Governor of Bank of Thailand and Diwa Guinigundo, Deputy Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Mr. Cabraal was accompanied by Dr. M.Z.M. Aazim, Deputy Superintendent of Public Debt and Dr. C. Amarasekara, Deputy Director of Economic Research.
