SLT becomes exclusive partner for Sri Dalada Maligawa ICT Project
View(s):Sri Lanka Telecom recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Dalada Maligawa to be the exclusive Official Telecommunication Partner for the temple.
The MoU was signed at the temple with Chinthaka Wijesooriya, Chief Regional Officer of SLT signing on behalf of the company and Krishantha Hiswella, Director-Media and Special Projects signing on behalf of the Sri Dalada Maligawa.
Under the agreement, the company will be providing consistent, uninterrupted high-speed Internet services to the temple premises, as well as an IPTV (Internet protocol television) connection via SLT PEO TV, according to an SLT media release.
These services will be provided free of charge for the period of the agreement and will facilitate the media centre of the temple to undertake the broadcasting and sharing of cultural and religious information pertaining to the temple with the public such as: broadcasting of the annual Kandy perehera online, fast and easy uploading of cultural and religious documentaries / photographs, religious festivals etc.
