Sri Lanka’s only FIFA World Cup song was released recently, just a few days before the finals.‘Who Are The Champions’ sung by Suppa & Nila was the only World Cup song in Sri Lanka. Melody was created by Nilantha Nimalasiri (Nila) and music was provided by Lahiru Premathunga/Nadika WeligodapolaPenned by Supun Ranaweerasinghe (Suppa), song ‘Who Are The Champions’visually directed by Charith Senadheera.
DOP by Sudam Kalana and visual edit was done by Madawa Kamalasiri ‘I thought of this Idea to do a small song for FIFA on you tube. Initial plan was to doa basic recording using computers and to make the video with smart phones and release before semifinals’ Suppa said.
‘When I met with Nila I told him about this idea and he asked Was it a joke? Charith was there too. But we managed to complete the song and released to youtube and to air’ he explained.
