Aravinda, Ravi and Thushara get PIMA Platinum Honours
View(s):Platinum Honours 2013/14 conferred by the PIM Alumni (PIMA) has gone to business and professionals, Aravinda Perera, Ravi Jayawardana and Thushara Perera, the organization said this week.
PIMA is the association of professionals who have completed the Master’s and Doctoral level degree programmes at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), affiliated to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The honours are given annually to achievers of professional excellence standards set by the PIM Alumni. Adjudged by an eminent panel, it recognize the achievements and contributions made in academic as well as professional spheres,” the organization said. The Platinum Honours Winners last year were Samantha Rajapaksa, Managing Director, AMW Ltd; Sampath Jayasundara, CEO/Director, hSenid Software Solutions (Pvt) Ltd and Rohan Pallewatte, Chairman/MD, Lanka Harness (Pvt) Ltd.
This year’s winners are:
Aravinda Perera, CEO, Sampath Bank PLC who is reputed to be one of Sri Lanka’s most qualified bankers, being a former President of the Association of Professional Bankers, a governing board member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, Director of the Colombo Stock Exchange, and a past Director of the Credit Information Bureau.
Ravi Jayawardana, CEO Sales & Markting, Maliban Biscuits (Pvt) Ltd. Mr.Jayawardena is one of the key members of the management team, which transformed both Maliban Biscuit and Maliban Milk to a very successful business unit. He has also served as the Country Head of Sales at Coca Cola Sri Lanka.
Thushara Perera, Group Director Marketing, Derana. He was also President of Sri Lanka institute of Marketing in 2011/2012 during which the Father of Modern Marketing Professor Philip Kotler was brought down for the first time to Sri Lanka.
