Working with one of the premier start-up guidance programmes in Sri Lanka, MIT Global Start-up Labs (GSL) 2014 powered by Massachusetts Institute of Technology in USA, Soft Beetles has focused on one of the main problems facing every university student as their first service product – finding boarding places for first year students and other academic year students.

“Most of the time before entering universities, applicants try to find good boarding places but the issue remains that there isn’t a unique platform which provides such services. Even though there are some platforms which provide similar services, there is no substantial and validated information,” says Sandarekha Ramanayake VP, Marketing and Finance of Soft Beetles. Hence their first product boarding.lk was born, aspiring to solve the problem at hand.
Now, they are ready to launch their first product boarding.lk with the launch day of MIT GSL 2014 on July 30. “This is not just like other existing solutions, boarding.lk has its own values, ratings, recommendations, reviews of the boarding places from students and up-to-date information will be offered for students,” adds Hiruma Thilakasooriya, CTO of Soft Beetles. Soft Beetles hope to extend this idea to all universities and institutions.
