Moratuwa schools to the fore in shuttle sport
St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa and Our Lady of Victories (OLV) Convent, Moratuwa emerged champions of the Super A segment at the Schools Badminton Championship concluded at the Richmond College Kannangara Memorial Hall in Galle recently.
Eighty four schools’ badminton teams took part in this tournament organised by the Schools Badminton Association and Richmond College and was worked off in six divisions.
Dharmaraja College, Kandy and Sangamitta Balika College, Galle finished runners-up in the Boys and Girls Super A divisions respectively.
H.U. Prematileke Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, Kitsiri Liyanagama Principal Ananda College and President of the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association and E.M.S. Ekanayake Principal Richmond College gave away the trophies and prizes to the winners and runners-up.

E Division: Champions: Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Kottawa; Runner-up: Asian Grammer School, Gothatuwa

A Division: Museaus College, Colombo; Runner-up: Dharmasoka Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda
B Division: Dharamapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya; Runner-up: Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda
D Division: Sri Sumangala College, Panadura; Runner-up: Ladies’ College, Colombo
