A radiant Chulakshi Ranathunga was crowned Siyatha Lux Miss World Sri Lanka 2014 at a glittering finale to the pageant held at the Grand Ballroom of the Colombo Hilton on Wednesday. Ashwini Peiris was adjudged first runner-up and Anita Rapali was second-runner up.
The pageant saw the finalists take the ramp in the customary costumes, showcasing their ability to display both Eastern and Western attire with equal style. Chulakshi also won the Miss Personality and Eastern Wear titles. Jayakalani Harkushi was selected ‘Miss Beautiful Hair’, Shalika Erangani won the title of ‘Miss Beautiful Skin’, Ashwini Peiris was ‘Face of the Year’, Dishney Rajapakse was ‘Miss Sports and Fitness’ as well as ‘Miss Talent’ and Onella Shani won the award for Dances of Sri Lanka.
The panel of judges included personalities from the beauty industry, Lou Ching Wong, Nushara Atapattu, and Nizreena Hidaya as well as Thai Ambassador Nopporn Adchariyavanich and GM Hilton Manesh Fernando.
