It was a fashion show with a difference. The young models strode the catwalk at the Colombo Swimming Club with great excitement and were cheered on by families, friends and well-wishers. Kids Parade featured the young ones of the Chitra Lane School for the Special Child displaying the new trends this season, joined by children who were members of the Colombo Swimming Club.
They modelled outfits from Odel Kids, Embark, Mish Mash and Rishard of Raheemas with choreography by well-known designer Brian Kerkoven. Colombo Jewellery Stores was one of the main sponsors of the show. The Chitra Lane School for the Special Child teaches and trains those who have Down’s Syndrome, Asperger’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) Autism etc. by identifying their special abilities and talents and channelling them towards developing a productive life.
