Army Para Sports from August 20
View(s):The 17th Inter-Regimental Para Sports Festival conducted for differently-abled athletes of Sri Lanka Army will be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium from August 20 to 22. Top athletes who had represented Sri Lanka at international events are expected to take part in this competition which opens doors to those who are capable of bringing glory to the country.
The competition was inaugurated in 1991 to facilitate the sporting abilities of the wounded and disabled from the three-decade long ethnic war of Sri Lanka, which eventually came to an end in 2009. Organisers have also received inquiries from international athletes who are keen to take part in the event.
