Textured Jersey take on Brandix in Super League
The Mercantile Volleyball Championship 2014 which was played in three segments at the Youth Services Centre Courts Maharagama will be concluded with the finals of the three segments (Men and Women) to be played at the same venue on Tuesday (August 26).
As this is the first time that the tournament was conducted as Super League, Championship and ‘A’ Division, a high class of volleyball was produced by the teams which participated. A good quality of sportsmanship was witnessed at the contest.

The preliminary round matches along with quarter-finals and semi-finals of each division was played over last weekend.
Textured Jersey Lanka PLC will meet Brandix Intimate Apparel, Welisara in the Men’s Super League. The third place play-off was won by Brandix Intimate Apparel, Minuwangoda. In the Women’s final MAS Intimates Casual line lock horns with Brandix Intimate Apparel, Minuwangoda while the third place was won by Brandix Intimate Apparel, Welisara.
In the Men’s Championship Division SLT Human Capital Solutions meet Brandix Essentials, Ratmalana. Brandix Intimate Apparel, Polonnaruwa finished in third place. In the Women’s segment of the same division Brandix Knits Mirigama are billed to meet MAS Casual line, Mawathagama in the final with MAS Unichela Pvt. Ltd Linea Clothing Pallekelle finishing in the third place.
In the Men’s ‘A’ division for newcomers VAT Holdings Pvt. Ltd made their maiden presence felt in Mercantile Volleyball when they came all the way to the finals. They are scheduled to meet MAS Active Leisureline, Katunayake who too proved their worthiness in competitive mercantile volleyball. Quantum Clothing were unlucky not to find a berth in the finals finishing in the third place.
