Situated on Galle Road in the premises of Galle Face Hotel, the ‘In on The Green’ (IOG) is a neighbourhood fun bar that attempts to bring a touch of whimsy to old English charm that lingers indoors. On design alone, it executes this perfectly.
Antique paintings and prints pepper the Bordeaux wall colour, while high-backed chairs maintain the feel of a study in a stately country manor. Aesthetic indeed equals atmosphere, and here is where the fairy tale starts to unravel, ideal place to get in an early couple of rounds in after work whilst having dinner as the menu is ideal for it. Anyway, this Colombo Gastro Bar, ‘In On the Green’, at Galle Face Hotel opens its doors to a whole new dining experience with the introduction of its Daily Express Lunch too. Order up the best cuisine in town and make that lunch hour extra delightful with a variety of gastronomical fares. The Express Lunch menu consists of a mini appetizer of the day, five choices of main course, a dessert and a beverage. Lunch will be served from Monday to Friday from 12.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m., whatever you choose it’s guaranteed be a memorable experience which would leave you craving for more. Priced marked as Rs. 850/-nett.
Four menus are rotated throughtout the month ranging from dishes like Cajun marinated pan fried darne of seer, braised rice, Buttered mixed vegetables lemon cream reduction or Grilled pork chops, tempered mash potatoes, Marinated pineapple, buttered mixed vegetables, onion sauce or even the ever famous Sri Lankan rice and curry Chicken, fish, prawn or beef with two vegetable curries Mango Chutney, onion tomato sambol and papadam, are a few to mention.
Gastro Bar lovers are in for a treat with its lively music, amazing theme nights, dynamic crowd and an array of fun menus of cocktails and big bite snacks. The cocktail choices are filled with a range of tempting concoctions and not forgetting the Mega Cocktails, making its menu one of the most appealing in Colombo city.
The Bar also features a 2 hour Happy Hour from Monday to Friday 5.30 p.m. – 7.30 p.m, a great option to bring your friends or make new ones while watching your favourite sports channels live or listening to some live music.
In on the Green features a variety of entertainment such as Quiz Night on Wednesday and live music which would set an ideal mood for winding down with your favourite drink in hand after a hard day of work.
