Six persons were injured and two were hospitalised last morning, following a clash between cricket fans at the Dambulla Cricket stadium over a dispute over tickets, police said.

Tickets were sold out for the third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, but the guards had allegedly let several people from Colombo into the stadium.

Some 12,000 spectators fought to enter the stadium, and one of them even broke a finger in the process. Several others were injured.
Police also apprehended four persons who were heavily intoxicated.
In an attempt to resolve the matter, ground staff finally opened a gate for the aggrieved supporters to watch the match, standing.
