RCGC and Kreative Krib organise charity golf on September 13
View(s):Swing for Charity, a fund raising golf tournament organised by the Royal Colombo Golf Club is set to get underway on September 13 at the Ridgeways in Colombo.
According to the concept of the tournament, it allows non-members of RCGC to take part in it as well in addition to the expected participation of its members, representing diplomatic missions and the top corporate.
The organisers expect to raise funds through this project with the aim of bolstering the kitty out of which proportions will be allocated for charitable ventures.
“The 2013 RCGC International Charity Golf Tournament was a tremendous success providing the much needed Neonatal Equipment to the Women and Children Hospital on Castle Street with the generous support of many individuals, companies and foreign missions in Sri Lanka. This year we hope to reach the Rs. 10 Million mark so we could allocate much of this money to the planned project,” Michael P. Magala, the Captain of the RCGC stated.
This year the organisers have planned to provide assistance to Navodya Children Foundation in Mount Lavinia, home to over 30 gifted children. The aim is to provide much needed facilities to ease the pain of these 30 less fortunate children.
The organisers RCGC and Kreative Krib expect sponsors and well-wishers to participate in this charitable venture.
“The contributions necessarily do not have to be participation, where entry fees are prices at Rs. 7,500 for member of RCGC and Rs. 10,000 for non members. Even those who are not keen in playing golf can be a part of this project by being generous for these young kids who deserve to be supported. The entire collection, including the entry fees goes to the fund,” Magala added.
Swing for Charity is a fund raising project organised by RCGC and Kreative Krib with the intention of raising funds to provide education to the children of the less fortunate caddies and workers living in the periphery and neighbourhood of RCGC.
