MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation and CINADCO – The Centre for International Agricultural Development Cooperation in cooperation with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board are organising a study tour on Intensive Vegetable Production and Marketing for advanced farmers from Sri Lanka from 9-16 September in CINADCO’s International Training Centre, Kibbutz Shefayim, Israel.

Eight successful farmers are participating in this seminar. The participants will be exposed to vegetable production and marketing, irrigation, dairy, mushroom, honey, organic farming, etc. The participants will be able to further impart the knowledge acquired during the seminar in their respective areas. The training programme also includes professional lectures, visits and practical practices, a media release from the Israel consulate in Colombo said.

MASHAV, founded in 1958 as part of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for initiating Israel’s development cooperation programmes worldwide. MASHAV aims at transferring the expertise and technologies that have assisted Israel on its own path to development. “Today, Israel cooperates with over 140 countries, providing training in Israel and abroad, and operates on-site long-term demonstration projects,” the release said.
