WSO2 Hackathon to foster open source cloud development
View(s):WSO2, with cloud computing becoming increasingly popular as the preferred platform for developing and hosting applications, is hosting the first coding social of its kind, WSO2 Hackathon 2014 on September 26 – 28 at the WSO2 Colombo office premises at Palm Grove, Colombo 3.
The Hackathon, a 48-hour non-stop event which also includes a great line up of entertainment, surprise guest appearances, sports activities, and competitions, is aimed at helping programming enthusiasts develop their skills in creating and implementing their own brand of open source software in a cloud based environment.
Participants are encouraged to come up with their own ideas, concepts and scope of projects that are focused on building a platform as a Service (PaaS) frameworks and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. WSO2 will offer in-house expertise to guide projects along and upon successful completion of a working prototype, participants will receive a certificate of completion, according to a company media release.
