‘Namaste’ : Indian cuisine at its best

Namaste, located at 237 High Level Road, Nugegoda is one such restaurant which caters to the much felt need among, particularly those living in the busy Colombo suburbs as well as those taking the highway.

The restaurant is the brain child of Anuja Karman Wickramasinghe and Anura Nandadeva who decided to partner the new restaurant, their first attempt in the world of restauranteering ‘We found that even though Indian food is very popular, there are no good restaurants that serve authentic Indian food and so we decided to start this up,’ Mr.Wickramasinghe said.
The duo ended up hiring four chefs from India to ensure that the food they serve is made to real Indian recipes.”“All our species are brought from India so that the food tastes authentic. The recipes are also from our chief chef who has years of experience working in hotels in South Africa and in India, “the Manager of the restaurant Rajesh Khanna said. The favorite among many of the locals is biryani and we have several varieties in our restaurant, he said. There is also selection of Indian breads such as Naan and Chapathies.
There are also the delicious collection of Indian desserts to suit your taste buds including Kulfi, the popular Indian ice cream as well as other favourites such as gulab jamun and halwa.
